In round 1, relatives Antoinette Pinder and Deidre Boyce competed against Joan and Keith.  After 100 seconds, the clean plates for each team were tallied by that day’s special Beep Rinse & Shine Challenge inspectors.  Antoinette and Deidre washed 18 plates while Joan and Keith ended the round with 10 clean plates.  Joan and Keith did not go home empty-handed.  Instead, they went home as a team with a $100 voucher for free groceries from Popular Discounts, compliments of Hanschell Inniss Ltd. and McBride Caribbean Ltd., owner of the Beep brand.  Antoinette and Deidre advanced to the lightning round to compete against the team from round 2 that washed the most plates.

Sisters, Jacky and Michelle stepped up to the sink in round 2 to wash against co-workers Marcus and Dwayne.  After 100 seconds, the special Rinse & Shine inspectors tallied the clean plates in favour of Jacky and Michelle who together washed 18 dishes over Marcus and Dwayne’s 11.  For their efforts, Marcus and Dwayne went away as a team with a $100 voucher for free groceries from Popular Discounts compliments of Hanschell Inniss Ltd. and McBride Caribbean Ltd.

Jacky and Michelle stepped up to the Beep Rinse & Shine Challenge game sink at the start of the lightning round to battle against round 1’s Antoinette and Deidre.  Randy started the round off and as both teams readied themselves to give this round their all, Randy jumped in with a surprise.  The Beep Rinse & Shine Challenge special inspectors were invited to the game sink to bound the team mates together at the wrist and apply a Beep blindfold to 1 team member of each team’s choice.

After the initial shock wore off of the contestants, they regrouped and gave everything they had to clean as many of the 100 plates as they could in 100 seconds.  Randy counted down with the audience to the final 10 seconds on the clock, “…3, 2, 1! Beep! Beep! Beep!”  As the team members stepped away from the game sink, the Beep Rinse & Shine Challenge special inspectors came to conduct their inspection.

The teams’ final tallies for the day revealed that for the first time in the challenge series’ history, there was a tie! Both teams washed a grand total of 19 plates much to the delight of the crowd.  Randy then initiated the tie-breaker round and invited the teams to switch sinks to level the playing field for another chance at qualifying from this preliminary round to advance to the final at the Hanschell Inniss Sales Centre for a chance to win $5,000.  Antoinette and Deidre emerged victorious and qualified by washing 26 plates versus Jacky and Michelle’s 19 clean plates as they were not able to beat their previous score.
