Beep Disinfectant Spray Donation to Barbados’ Ministry of Education Amid COVID-19

With the return of students, teachers and ancillary staff to physical classrooms at primary and secondary schools, a local company is helping to ensure their health and safety. McBride (Caribbean) Limited, Barbadian manufacturer of Beep household products and a subsidiary of Goddard Enterprises Limited, on May 18, 2021, donated more than BDS$5,000 in Beep Disinfectant Spray to the Ministry of Education.

The donation includes 1,800 cans of disinfectant spray including the new Travel Size version to aid in sanitizing surfaces in the school environment across the island. Beep Disinfectant Spray is manufactured in Barbados and is certified by an accredited, US EPA compliant lab to kill the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19. On hand to receive the product was Chief Education Officer, Acting, Joy Adamson who welcomed the donation noting that a top priority for the Ministry was ensuring that schools remained fully sanitized at all times.

“We continue to work with the parents, teachers and non-teaching staff to ensure that all COVID-19 protocols are adhered to. In addition, we continue to fully sanitise all areas of the school plant and this donation from McBride (Caribbean) Limited will go a long way in helping us to keep our schools safe,” Adamson said.

While acknowledging the excellent work the Ministries of Education and Health are doing to ensure students and teachers return safely to in-person learning, Sales and Marketing Manager of McBride, Shari Green said she was pleased that McBride (Caribbean) Limited was able to make a significant contribution to Government’s ongoing efforts.

“Our nation’s children have been severely impacted by the pandemic and have been away from the school environment for some time now. McBride wanted to assist in preventing any further displacement of students during the school term and as such we felt that this donation of Beep Disinfectant Spray would be appreciated by the authorities,” Green stated.

Other organizations earmarked to benefit from donations of Beep are the Queen Elizabeth Hospital through the Ministry of Health and Her Majesty Dodds Prisons through the Ministry of Home Affairs.
