Beep Donates More than BDS$10,000 to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital

September 1, 2021. Bridgetown, Barbados. Ongoing efforts to ensure that the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) remains highly sanitized got a further boost following the donation of more than BDS$10,000 worth in sanitization products to the hospital.

McBride (Caribbean) Limited recently made the presentation of Beep hand sanitizer and disinfectant spray products to QEH officials.

Sales and Marketing Manager for McBride, Shari Green noted that as the Delta variant of the coronavirus spreads across the island, the management of McBride and Hanschell Inniss Limited agreed that a joint donation of Beep products to the QEH was in the country’s best interest.

“We cannot overemphasize our appreciation of the dedication of the doctors, nurses and support staff and the efforts of the Ministry of Health to contain the spread of COVID-19. It is critical at this time for members of the private sector to support and reinforce the public healthcare system however we can contribute as Barbados enters the third wave of the pandemic,” she said.

In accepting the donation, Acting Director of the Support Services at the QEH, Andrea Lashley expressed deep appreciation on behalf of the management and staff of the QEH to McBride and Hanschell Inniss, noting that it would go a long way in helping to protect staff and patients of the hospital from COVID-19.

“Contributions from the private sector are very welcome as operating the hospital requires a substantial number of resources [financial and non-financial]. This donation is very timely as the management of the QEH works to set up additional isolation facilities across the island to meet the increased demand for specialized healthcare because of the current surge in COVID-19,” Lashley said.

She added that the staff of the QEH would be especially delighted to receive individual Beep Travel Size Disinfectant Spray and Liquid Hand Sanitizer products for their own personal use.

This presentation is one of many McBride (Caribbean) have made in recent months to support key local agencies and organizations in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
